Event Detail

Chiang Mai Season Festival 2026 RUN • WALK • CAMP launches Chiang Mai's high-season tourism calendar with a mountain run and walk on Saturday 7 November, accompanied by camping, music, local food and outdoor experiences. The festival is a joint initiative involving the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organisation, the Chiang Mai Tourism Industry Council, Doi Suthep–Pui National Park and other public and private partners. The provincial tourism and sports office confirmed the event and organiser collaboration in an official announcement on 12 October 2026.

Routes and participation

The current 2026 event calendar, compiled from the organiser's announcement, lists 12.4 km and 4.2 km routes, both with free entry. The longer course is a genuine 12.4 km, not exactly 12 km; ARC's closest distance filter is 12K. The short course is 4.2 km. The run/walk welcomes outdoor enthusiasts and social participants as well as runners; exact terrain, climbing, route maps, cut-offs, timing services and category flag-off times are not yet independently confirmed. No official race start time has been verified; the date-only listing is not a midnight flag-off.

The campaign poster identifies Huaykaew Arboretum for the 12.4 km route, Pha Lad for the 4.2 km route, and Doi Suthep–Pui National Park for camping. The wider festival listing identifies the Ban Phak Suan Son visitor centre within the national park. These are different activity locations: confirm the correct meeting point for your selected route directly with the organiser. The map marker indicates the nearby national-park facilities and must not be treated as a surveyed event start arch. Road access is mountainous, and early-morning travel may be affected by festival traffic. Check the exact check-in point and parking before travelling.

Beyond the run

Festival organisers are also promoting an outdoor camping zone, music and local-food experiences, locally made products, and environmentally minded tourism with reduced single-use plastics and waste separation. These are part of the wider festival programme: the free running entry does not automatically establish that accommodation, camping facilities, food or national-park charges are free.

Registration and official announcements

Organisers announced that registration would open on 20 October 2026, with only 500 places available across the event. Availability, the final registration deadline, bib collection, participant kit contents and any late changes require confirmation. Refer to the festival's official Facebook page and the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organisation's Facebook announcements for registration instructions. There is no confirmed open checkout page in the independent source reviewed, so do not assume that places remain available.

Government event confirmation and current campaign artwork rechecked 29 October 2026. The official Facebook photo requested sign-in in this browser; remaining entry availability could not be independently inspected. Original organiser references are retained.
