Sukhothai Marathon 2026

Sukhothai Marathon 2026 is the fourth chapter of Sukhothai Province's annual destination road race, staged at Sukhothai Historical Park on Sunday 11 October. The Tourism Industry Council of Sukhothai Province established the event as a green-season sports-tourism project intended to spread visitor spending through local businesses and communities, while developing the race towards national and ultimately international standards. Its defining feature is the heritage setting around the historic Sukhothai landscape.

The marathon starts at 03:00 and has a seven-hour limit, closing at 10:00. The half marathon starts at 05:00 with a 4 hour 30 minute limit, the 10K at 05:30 with a 2 hour 30 minute limit, and the 5K at 06:00. Current official 2026 artwork labels the half marathon as 21.2K, while the organiser's detailed race page uses 21K in its schedule and age groups and 22K in one package heading. ARC therefore maps it to the existing Half Marathon structured distance rather than creating or forcing a new distance.

The organiser also lists a 2.7K Family Rally Run for three-person teams. ARC does not currently expose an exact 2.7K distance option, so that category is noted here but is not mapped to an inaccurate structural distance.

Registration opened on 1 April 2026 and the official site currently continues to direct runners to Checkrace. The published final entry tier applies from 1 May. Official race information also publishes age-group divisions and race-shirt sizing. Current official pages do not yet provide a clearly verifiable race-pack collection venue and collection hours, so those details are deliberately left unset rather than inferred from an earlier edition.

For travelling runners, the race is built around Sukhothai Historical Park rather than a generic city-road venue, making the UNESCO-listed historic setting an integral part of the event experience.
