Event Detail
Vietnam Jungle Marathon 2026 brings the Vietnam Trail Series back to Pu Luong Nature Reserve on Saturday, 17 October. Organised by Topas Travel, the event is built around the reserve's mix of old jungle, limestone mountains, rice terraces, rivers, waterfalls and minority villages about 160 km south-west of Hanoi. All four races start and finish at the VJM Race Village at Lang Leo, beside Ban Don village.
The headline 70K is an actual 68.1 km with about 3,100 m of climbing and starts at 04:00. It has intermediate cut-offs through the day and a midnight finish limit. The 50K covers 49.2 km with about 2,000 m of elevation gain, starts at 05:00 and also closes at midnight. The 25K is 25.1 km with around 700 m of climbing and starts at 07:00, while the nominal 10K is actually 11.4 km with about 270 m of climbing and starts at 08:00. The shorter routes still use genuine trail terrain, including rice terraces, forest, village paths and bamboo bridges.
Experience requirements apply to the ultras. The 50K requires a previous chip-timed trail race of at least 20 km with significant elevation, while the 70K requires at least one qualifying trail race of 40 km or longer. Loop and virtual races do not count. The organiser also lists the 2026 70K as an Asia Trail Master Grandmaster Quest race and as a UTMB Index 100K category event; the 50K carries a UTMB 50K Index and the 25K a UTMB 20K Index.
Every checkpoint provides water, but runners must carry their own bottles or hydration bladders. Food and other checkpoint nutrition are supplied according to the race plan, and drop bags may be left only at the start for collection at the finish. Outside assistance is allowed only at designated checkpoints.
The organiser's FAQ schedules normal registration to close 30 days before race day or earlier if capacity is reached. Current third-party registration coverage now marks the race sold out, while the official site still retains a Book Now link, so runners seeking any late availability should confirm directly with Topas. Race kits must be collected personally with the runner's bib number, photo identification and signed indemnity form.
Race Pack Information
All runners must collect their own race kit. Bring bib number, photo ID/passport or VNeID, and a signed indemnity form. The current collection page identifies Lang Leo Football Field as the collection location but does not publish a clearly dated 2026 collection timetable.
