The Karhu Ikoni 3.0 is a cushioned daily road-running shoe intended for comfortable training mileage and steady runs. Karhu positions this model for neutral runners and some mild overpronators who appreciate a guided, balanced ride rather than a minimalist racer.
Its nitrogen-infused AeroFoam midsole provides cushioning, while a half-length Fulcrum and Propulsion unit is designed to encourage a smooth rolling transition. The IdealKnit mesh upper is paired with anatomical lacing and M-lock midfoot construction to help keep the fit secure. Manufacturer specifications list an 8 mm heel-to-toe drop, 30 mm heel and 22 mm forefoot stack heights, and a reference weight of 301 g in men's US size 10.
The shoe's strengths are its versatile road-training focus, breathable upper and stable-feeling geometry. It is relatively substantial compared with speed-focused racing shoes, and its road outsole is not intended for technical off-road terrain.
