The Nathan HyperBrite RX is a compact safety light for runners and walkers training in low-light conditions. Four LEDs produce more than 16 lumens, while the secure clip can attach to clothing, a hat, belt, backpack or dog lead. It is intended to improve visibility to other road and path users rather than act as a headlamp for illuminating the ground ahead.
Four lighting patterns let runners balance visibility and runtime. Nathan lists more than four hours in steady mode, six hours in strobe mode, 12 hours in alternating mode and 30 hours in chain mode. The built-in battery recharges through Micro-USB, avoiding disposable cells, and the IPX4 rating provides resistance to rain and splashes.
Its small format makes it easy to add to an existing reflective setup, but runners should still use suitable lighting and follow local road-safety guidance. The saved US$24 price is supported by a current US specialist-retailer listing. Colour and retailer availability may change.
