Vivobarefoot Primus Trail Flow Waterproof is a minimalist trail-running shoe for runners who favour natural foot movement and a close connection with uneven ground. It combines a breathable waterproof membrane with a recycled-polyester mesh upper and anti-slip lacing, aiming to keep the foot secure on wet trails. The Soft Ground rubber outsole has a thin 1.8 mm base and 5.5 mm chevron-style lugs designed to bite into mud and loose surfaces. A flexible ETPU midsole adds a small measure of underfoot compliance without creating the high-cushion feel of a conventional trail trainer.
The shoe has no separate insole and is built around a foot-shaped fit. Vivobarefoot lists a weight of 310 g for a men's US 9 and describes its sizing as true to size. Its minimal underfoot protection is a meaningful trade-off: runners accustomed to thick cushioning may need time to adapt, particularly on rocky routes or longer outings. Waterproof construction is useful in wet conditions but may feel warmer than open mesh in humid weather. Check toe room, terrain suitability and fit before buying.
