Editorial verdict
The Amazfit Active 2 is a compact, approachable GPS fitness watch for runners who want route recording, training tools and everyday health tracking without paying for a specialist multisport flagship. The round 44 mm design has a bright AMOLED screen, two physical buttons and a relatively light case. It is most attractive for everyday runs, gym work, walking and general fitness. Runners who need highly consistent interval heart-rate readings or the most precise GPS tracks should compare specialist watches and consider an external heart-rate strap.
Confirmed round-model specifications
The manufacturer lists a 1.32-inch, 466 × 466 AMOLED display with up to 2,000 nits claimed peak brightness, a stainless-steel bezel and polymer case. Dimensions are 43.9 × 43.9 × 9.9 mm. Weight without strap is approximately 29.5 g for the Standard and 31.65 g for the Premium edition. Standard uses tempered glass and a silicone strap; Premium adds sapphire glass, leather and an extra silicone sports strap. These are variants within this single Active 2 listing. The separately named Active 2 Square has a different screen and body; check the shape carefully when shopping.
Garmin-style satellite bands are not claimed here: Amazfit specifies five supported satellite positioning systems with a circularly polarised antenna, not dual-frequency GNSS for the round model. Its 5 ATM rating supports ordinary swimming use within manufacturer guidance, but avoid hot showers and saunas. Amazfit quotes up to 10 days of typical battery life and 21 hours of continuous GPS recording; actual endurance depends on settings, screen brightness and usage.
Training, maps and pairing
The Active 2 offers outdoor running, track running, virtual pacer, interval workouts, downloadable offline maps with route guidance, strength modes and a HYROX profile. Zepp Coach and PeakBeats add training and recovery estimates, while Zepp supports syncing with services such as Strava and other supported platforms. Compatible Bluetooth external heart-rate sensors can be useful when wrist optical readings struggle. Confirm exact accessory pairing and regional payment features before buying: NFC and payment services differ by edition and country. This watch is not a medical monitor.
Independent observations and limitations
In Wareable's hands-on review, the reviewer liked the extensive features and mapping but found heart-rate accuracy inconsistent, GPS tracks less exact than a reference Garmin and some software lag. TechRadar also considered the round watch feature-rich for its category. These are their published observations, not ARC testing. Wet fingers can make touchscreen interaction harder, and downloaded maps require setup before a run. City skyscrapers and dense tree cover may affect GPS on any watch, particularly a single-frequency receiver.
Buying across Asia
Exact Active 2 round-model pages were located in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand. Compare the Sport/Standard versus Premium straps, glass, local warranty and payment compatibility. Colour and strap variants do not justify separate ARC products. Shopee Indonesia, ZALORA Singapore and Amazon US/Australia entries are affiliate SEARCH links only; their final results, authenticity and tracking could not be independently verified. Clean and dry the strap after sweaty tropical runs, and follow the manufacturer's care instructions.
