Event Detail
The 2026 China Cold Pole Half Marathon (2026中国冷极半程马拉松) takes runners into the Greater Khingan Mountains of Inner Mongolia, where Genhe is known for exceptionally long, bitterly cold winters. The event combines a competitive 21.0975 km road race with a distinctive journey through forest, frozen landscapes and the cultural homeland of the Ewenki reindeer herders.
The course and setting
The point-to-point course starts at the visitor centre of the Aoluguya Reindeer Tribe Scenic Area in Genhe. According to the published 2026 route, runners head along Aoluguya Road, continue towards Yingbin Bridge and the city's slow-traffic paths, then pass Yuquan Bridge before making their way towards Genheyuan National Wetland Park. The finish is at the wetland park visitor centre. This is a northern China race with striking scenery and potentially severe early-winter conditions, not an ordinary warm-weather city half marathon.

Planning your visit
The event is an opportunity to see the Aoluguya area's reindeer-herding heritage and Genhe's forests and wetlands. Winter conditions in this part of Inner Mongolia can be demanding, so participants should prepare suitable cold-weather running layers and check the organiser's current safety and travel guidance. The published rules restrict entry to nationals of the People's Republic of China, including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, aged 18–70. Entries are handled through the event's Chinese-language registration portal. Check the organiser's eligibility rules before booking.
Event details are based on the current-edition registration listing and route announcement. Any later organiser changes take precedence.
