Event Detail
The 2026 Chongqing Kaizhou Hanfeng Lake Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 25 October, taking runners through the scenic lakefront of Kaizhou District in eastern Chongqing. The event has expanded to 8,000 places, comprising 2,000 full-marathon places and 6,000 half-marathon places. Both races are scheduled to begin at 08:00 China Standard Time.
For the 2026 edition, the start and finish have moved to the car park beside Yuqing Museum at Hanfeng Lake. The marathon uses Binhu East, Central and West roads, lakefront greenways and historic neighbourhoods, including routes by Taian Bridge, Xunsheng Bridge and Kaizhou Old City before returning to the museum. The organisers describe a relatively gentle course with roughly 80 metres of cumulative ascent for the marathon and 30 metres for the half marathon.
Registration closed on 18 October 2026. Marathon applicants needed recent results from a marathon or two half marathons, while half-marathon applicants needed recent results from two races of at least 10 kilometres. The published fees are CNY 150 and CNY 120 respectively. There is an announced event shuttle connection from Wanzhou North railway station to Kaizhou, with arrangements to be confirmed through the Yundong Chongqing Information WeChat account.
This year's prize purse totals CNY 285,600 and awards extend to 440 runners, including new team awards.
