Haidian Marathon 2026

The 2026 Haidian Marathon returns to Beijing's Haidian District on Sunday, 11 October for its third edition. The event is a marathon-only road race with 10,000 places, starting at 07:30 from Zhongguancun No. 1 and finishing in the same precinct. The published event window runs until 13:30.

The 42.195 km course is built around northern Haidian and links the district's technology, education and ecological landscapes. From Zhongguancun No. 1, runners use Yongfeng Road, Yuhe Road and Shangzhuang Road before heading through the Cuihu and Daoxianghu areas, then return to the Zhongguancun No. 1 finish. The official route notice lists further sections on Dengzhuang South Road, Cuihu East Road, Wenyang Road, Cuihu North Road, Daoxianghu Road and surrounding streets. The final measured course remains subject to the organiser's race-day course controls.

Registration ran from 15 July at 16:00 until 8 August at 24:00 local time and used a pre-registration, ballot and payment system. The standard fee was CNY 200. Applicants had to provide either one marathon finish or two half-marathon finishes from the preceding 24 months. The 2026 edition also reserved 1,000 performance-based direct-entry places using recognised race results.

Race-pack collection is scheduled at the South Plaza of Zhongguancun No. 1 from 7-10 October, with collection from 10:00-19:00 on 7-9 October and 10:00-21:00 on 10 October. Runners must collect in person with valid identification and there is no race-day collection.

The 2026 prize pool is 66 per cent larger than the previous edition. The top six men and women receive cash awards, with CNY 40,000 for each winner. An additional CNY 10,000 course-record bonus is offered to an eligible winning man under 2:18:22 or woman under 2:36:25. Current event material also confirms a 2026 race shirt, finisher medal and academic-style finisher poncho, while bib holders receive selected tourism and commercial benefits around Haidian.
