Event Detail
The 2026 Leshan Double Heritage Marathon, part of Sichuan's Run Across Sichuan (Leshan stop) series, returns to the city of Leshan on Sunday 29 November 2026. Centred on Shihao Square (世豪广场), the event showcases the heritage and riverside setting of a city internationally associated with the Leshan Giant Buddha and nearby Mount Emei.
Race format and atmosphere
The current-edition programme has a 42.195 km marathon and 21.0975 km half marathon, with both advertised to start at 07:30 China Standard Time. The organiser originally promoted a field of about 15,000 runners, including roughly 3,000 full-marathon places. Competitors can expect a major city road event combining serious racing with the region's cultural and culinary attractions. While promotions refer to the famous UNESCO-listed landmarks, runners should not assume the course passes directly beside the Buddha or enters Mount Emei until the final 2026 course map is published.
Entry and eligibility
Registration is closed. The official 2026 lottery application period ran 14–31 August, with ballot results announced in early September and separate payment arrangements for successful applicants and reserves. The current registration partner specifically displays both marathon and half-marathon entry categories as closed. The published standard prices were CNY 200 for the marathon and CNY 160 for the half marathon; these are historical 2026 entry prices, not a promise of available tickets.
Entry rules ask runners to provide their best officially recorded race performance within the preceding two years, together with 2026 medical checks including an ECG and blood-pressure assessment. The competition regulations also describe separate start corrals and forbid starting outside an assigned group. Participants should consult their race confirmation for any further age, health, timing and eligibility conditions.
Planning and updates
The start location and gun time are confirmed for 2026, but final course maps, finish venue, race-pack collection times, cut-offs and participant entitlements should be checked against the organiser's latest announcements rather than copied from previous editions.
