Maotai Town Trail Running Festival 2026 - Guizhou

The inaugural Maotai Town Trail Running Festival takes place on Sunday, 22 November 2026, with the race village at 1915 Square on Hebin Road in Maotai Town, Renhuai, Guizhou. Routes climb out of the Chishui River valley towards surrounding mountain trails, combining substantial ascent with old stone-paved streets and paths associated with the region's historic salt-trading routes. This is a mountain-trail event, not a flat urban road race.

Actual course lengths, starts and cut-offs

The organiser's category names are approximate. The measured distances and advertised climbing matter when choosing an entry:

• 65K ultra: 64.7 km, 2,791 m ascent; starts 07:00 with a 16-hour limit (23:00 finish cut-off); entry CNY 599.
• 20K trail: 21.68 km, 1,249 m ascent; starts 07:30, 7-hour limit (14:30); entry CNY 299.
• 10K trail: 13.3 km, 717 m ascent; starts 08:30, 4-hour limit (12:30); entry CNY 129.
• 5K trail: 5.3 km, 166 m ascent; starts 09:00, 90-minute limit (10:30); entry CNY 79.

All times are China Standard Time (UTC+8). In particular, the event's nominal 10K is actually 13.3 km, and the nominal 20K is 21.68 km. ARC's distance categorisation cannot accurately represent every measured course, so runners should rely on the measurements here rather than assuming a standard road distance.

Eligibility and registration

The organiser's entry regulations require evidence of relevant activity for the longer courses: 10K applicants should have a valid activity record or event-finisher certificate from the preceding year; 20K applicants need a finish at a 10 km-or-longer trail race or a half marathon from the preceding year; 65K applicants need a finish at a 30 km-or-longer trail race within the preceding year. The 5K is intended for people who exercise regularly. Review the full regulations for any age, health and document requirements.

Registration closes 31 October 2026 at 23:59:59 China Standard Time, unless a category fills earlier. The official registration portal presently lists the event as open. Check it again immediately before paying; a listing on ARC is not an availability guarantee.

Preparing for race weekend

Terrain ranges from the river valley into mountain country, so elevation gain and weather may affect pacing. The organiser has not yet provided independently verified race-pack collection hours, required-equipment details or an official final participant guide in the material reviewed. Entrants should confirm these directly rather than assuming road-race arrangements.
