Event Detail
The 2026 Xiamen International Bank China Athletics Association 10K Elite Race (Xiamen Xiang'an) takes place on Saturday 14 November 2026 at 17:00 China Standard Time (UTC+8). This nationally recognised sunset road-running event returns to the Xiang'an waterfront outside Xiamen International Expo Center, combining competitive racing with shorter community runs. Xiamen International Bank is the title sponsor.
Courses and atmosphere
The certified 10 km race accommodates 5,000 runners. It starts on the south side of the Expo Center conference centre, follows Hongjiang Road and Liuwudian Road, turns along Geyuan Road and Yangfan Road, then returns to the conference centre. The organiser promotes sea views, the nearby Egret Stadium precinct, sunset running and a specially illuminated waterfront finish. It reports World Athletics, AIMS and Chinese Athletics Association recognition for the 10K course, but entrants should consult their official results record for any qualifying claims.
Two approximately 5.2 km activities also form part of the programme: a couples' run for 520 people (260 pairs) and a family-friendly fun run for 3,480 people. Both follow a shorter route through Geyuan Road, Zhanhui Road and Wuyingshan Road towards the west side of the Expo Center. These courses are not exact 5K distances and therefore do not carry an inaccurate 5K category in ARC.
Participant experiences
The couples' division advertises special paired bibs and shirts, a dedicated finish celebration, themed refreshments and an optional personalised AI keepsake. Organisers also promote a post-race festival with Minnan food, local makers, cultural stalls and runner experiences. For the 10K field, 20 eligible finishers are to be drawn for direct-entry opportunities at the Xiamen Marathon; this is a prize draw, not an automatic entitlement for every finisher.
Registration and race-week guidance
Ordinary entries closed at 15:00 on 16 October 2026 China Standard Time (07:00 UTC). The organiser's application process required payment first and then a ballot; submitting payment did not guarantee a place. Advertised fees were CNY 100 for 10K, CNY 199 per couple, and CNY 80 per fun-run entrant. The organisers' WeChat official account “厦门翔安10K精英赛” was the public application channel, and elite athletes were directed to the organising committee by email. These advertised prices and the closed original entry window do not establish whether late or transferred bibs are authorised.
Confirm ballot acceptance, participant ID requirements, road closures, shuttle arrangements and race-pack pickup through the organiser before travelling. Detailed 2026 race-pack collection hours and location are not yet independently verified; prior-year instructions should not be assumed valid.
The current-edition announcement originates from the event's official Xiang'an 10K account and is reproduced at the 29 September race notice.
