Event Detail
The 2026 Xishan Wanshan Lake Marathon (2026 锡山宛山湖马拉松) is a full-distance road marathon in Xishan District, Wuxi, Jiangsu, on Sunday 8 November 2026. The current-edition organiser materials specify a 07:30 China Standard Time start at Yingyue Tiandi on Hexiang Road (和祥路映月天地), where the race also finishes. The announced field is 13,000 marathon runners, with no separate half-marathon race in this edition.
The lakeside Wuxi course
The 42.195 km route threads through the urban greenery of Xishan and around Yingyue Lake, Jiuli River Wetland, Houshan Forest Park and Wanshan Lake Technology City. Organisers describe the course's outline as resembling a lucky elephant, a distinctive feature of this Wuxi race. The current route makes extensive use of the Hexiang Road, Wanquan Road, Wanshan Lake Road and Dacheng Road corridors. The event promotes route refinements with fewer bends and gentler gradients, although participants should follow the final route and any last-minute road notices rather than assuming an entirely flat course.
Eligibility and entry status
The organiser lists a minimum age of 20 years during 2026 for marathon participation and emphasises previous endurance-running preparation and health screening. Its registration system used advance entry/payment followed by a ballot, with the primary application window ending 30 June 2026 at 17:00 China time and ballot results scheduled for 10 July. Unsuccessful ballot entrants were due a refund of their application payment. The official 2026 booking platform now marks both entry options closed; this listing must not be interpreted as a promise of available race places.
Two marathon entry products were offered: a CNY 150 standard entry and a CNY 75 eco entry without the usual race pack. The eco package specifically includes a bib, timing chip, energy gel and salt tablets, plus the finisher medal and finish-line drinks; do not assume it includes a T-shirt or a full kit bag. Runners should check their ballot confirmation, participant instructions and their exact purchased package to determine their entitlements.
Race-day planning
The start and finish hub is close to Yingyue Tiandi Commercial Plaza and the Yingyue Lake area. The mapped point in ARC is an approximate plaza pin, not the surveyed marathon starting arch. Allow extra time for race-day road closures, security checks and bag-drop queues. Final race-pack collection sessions, transport plans, aid-station layouts, weather guidance and any changes to the course should be checked with the organiser's published runner handbook.
