Event Detail
The 2026 Yulin Marathon is a major year-end road-running event in the southern Chinese city of Yulin, Guangxi. The organiser and its registration partners have confirmed Sunday 27 December 2026, with a 7:00 am start at Yulin Municipal Square in Yuzhou District. A total of 15,000 race entries are planned: 3,500 full-marathon places and 11,500 half-marathon places.
Yulin combines traditional Lingnan architecture with busy urban streets and riverside scenery. This year's organisers highlight the Nanliu River, Shizi Street's arcaded buildings, the Wanhualou cultural area and the city's herbal-medicine heritage. These attractions provide context for visiting runners, but the final race route should be checked against the official 2026 course map before making any spectator or transport arrangements. A planned application for national athletics technical certification is not the same as confirmed certification.
The marathon covers 42.195 km and the half marathon 21.0975 km. Advertised entry fees are CNY 180 and CNY 150 respectively. Online registration through the official partner closes at 6:00 pm China Standard Time on 5 December 2026, or earlier if places fill.
Full-marathon entrants must demonstrate a qualifying full-marathon result or two half-marathon results from the preceding 24 months. Half-marathon entrants need a half-marathon result or two results from races of 10 km or longer over the same period. The registration partner also sets out an approved alternative qualification method in the First Race app. Entrants should read the detailed rules before paying.
Plan an early arrival at Municipal Square. Check the organiser's final notices for race-pack collection, course support, road closures, start corrals, any cut-off times and last-minute changes. Race instructions and event enquiries are available through the Yulin Marathon and First Race official channels.
