Event Detail
Lantau 2 Peaks 2026 returns to Lantau Island on Sunday, 4 October as Action Asia Events’ established Hong Kong trail-season opener. The race is positioned as a Skyrace-style mountain challenge, using two of Hong Kong’s highest and best-known summits: Lantau Peak at 934 metres and Sunset Peak at more than 800 metres. The event starts and finishes around Man Tung Road Park in Tung Chung, behind Citygate and beside the Novotel Citygate Hong Kong.
The headline 25K starts at 07:10 and measures about 25.3 km with approximately 1,681 metres of climbing and a matching amount of descent. Runners climb towards Ngong Ping, continue over the high mountain terrain and have an eight-hour overall cut-off. The shorter 17K starts at 07:20, covers about 16.9 km with roughly 662 metres of ascent, and has a five-hour limit. Both routes are steep enough that the organiser stresses proper hill training and heat preparation.
Aid support includes water, electrolyte drink, fruit, biscuits and other simple food at published checkpoints, while participants must carry their own hydration system with at least 500 ml capacity. Trekking poles are permitted in the 2026 edition for the first time in more than 15 years.
Phase 4 entry from 1 September is HKD 620 for an individual in either distance and HKD 2,108 for a mixed team of four in the 25K. Entry includes a souvenir shirt, race bib with luggage tag, checkpoint refreshments, medical and event support, and a finisher medal. Race-pack collection is at Action X Store in Sheung Wan on 28–30 September and again on 2 October from 11:00 to 19:30.
The 25K awards cash, trophies, certificates and future-event entries to leading solo runners, while mixed-team and 17K awards are also published. Runners using public transport are advised by the organiser to catch the first MTR train of the morning.
