Event Detail

Mountain Range Trail Series – Tai Po Hong Kong 2026 takes runners across the hills, old paths and reservoirs of the northern New Territories on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026. The organiser, Union Hope Limited / Mountain Range, offers four courses centred on Tai Po Tau Shui Wai Village, approximately a ten-minute walk from Tai Wo MTR Station. All courses start and finish in the same village.

Saturday 7 November (Hong Kong time):

  • Tai Po 20: 21 km, starts 9:00am, approximately 1,050 m ascent and a six-hour cutoff. The course visits Cloudy Hill, Sha Lo Tung, Hok Tau Country Trail and Hok Tau Reservoir. UTMB Index 20K / ITRA 1 point as advertised by the organiser.
  • Tai Po 8: 7.5 km actual mapped route, starts 9:15am, approximately 230 m ascent and a 2 hour 45 minute cutoff. Individual and parent-child team entries available. No UTMB/ITRA points.

Sunday 8 November:

  • Tai Po 45: 43.5 km, starts 8:00am, approximately 2,500 m ascent, 13-hour cutoff. Climbs via Cloudy Hill, Lung Shan, Tai To Yan, Ng Tung Chai and Sze Fong Shan. UTMB Index 50K / ITRA 2 points.
  • Tai Po 30: 31.5 km, starts 9:00am, approximately 1,500 m ascent, eight-hour cutoff. The organiser's course-specific detail is 1,500 m ascent despite a rounded 1,600 m on the general landing page. UTMB Index 20K / ITRA 2 points.

Individual divisions are organised by gender and age bands (under 35, 35–45, 46–55 and 56+ for the longer races). Two-person teams can enter male, female or mixed categories. Participants should review the official GPX files, mandatory gear, checkpoint cutoffs, race conditions and any team-keeping-together rules.

Race-pack collection: 31 October, 1 November or 2 November 2026, each day noon–8:00pm, at Round The World sports store, MegaBox Level 8, Shop 4, 38 Wang Chiu Road, Kowloon Bay. A confirmation email allows collection for a teammate or friend. According to the organiser, there is no normal race-pack distribution after the event; on-site pickup at the start may incur a HK$100 administration charge for local entrants. A free shuttle connects MegaBox with Kowloon Bay MTR.

Finish benefits: The organiser lists a finish medal, electronic certificate and a special course-specific X-Pac style finisher pouch/bag, plus race-kit apparel and gifts varying by category. Baggage deposit is available at the race start. Consult the latest organiser instructions for permitted kit and aid-station information.

Pricing shown in ARC is the organiser's normal (post–20 August) fee, not expired early-bird rates. A race with 'Tai Po 8' or 'Tai Po 30' in the organiser's title has an actual measured course of 7.5 km or 31.5 km respectively, so ARC uses those more accurate distances.
