Event Detail
The 9 Dragons returns to Hong Kong on 27–28 February 2027 for a two-day trail-ultra weekend across the New Territories and Kowloon ridgelines. Organised by RaceBase, the programme combines four adult challenges plus a kids race, with the flagship 50/50 recognised as an Asia Trail Master Championship round.
The 50/50 combines Saturday's 84.7 km 50 Miles and Sunday's 53.4 km 50 km, for a total of 138.1 km and 8,079 m of climbing. The organiser reports an overall finish rate of about 45 percent. The 50 Miles starts at 00:00 on Saturday from Tai Tong BBQ Area in Tai Lam Country Park, climbs 4,638 m, uses seven aid stations and has a 24-hour overall cut-off at Tai Po Tau Playground. The same course is also available as a four-person relay.
Sunday's 50 km starts at 07:30 from Tai Po Tau Playground and covers 53.4 km with 3,550 m of climbing, six aid stations and a 21:30 finish cut-off at Shing Fung Studios. The 25 km starts at 08:30 from Shing Mun Reservoir and is 25.4 km with 1,080 m of climbing and three aid stations, also finishing at Shing Fung Studios. A 4 km kids race starts and finishes at Shing Fung Studios at 12:00.
Safety requirements vary by distance. Adult runners must carry a working mobile phone and photo ID or a copy. The 50 Miles additionally requires a head torch and emergency blanket. Pacers are allowed only on the 50 Miles from Fanling to the finish, and runners must carry their own required equipment. Finish-line baggage is transported for all races, with a dedicated 50 Miles drop bag available to CP4 at Fanling.
Current normal pricing is published through 31 December 2026: HKD 1,950 for the 50/50 solo, HKD 1,100 for the 50 Miles solo, HKD 900 for the 50 km and HKD 525 for the 25 km, with processing fees extra. Race-pack collection is listed at Gone Running; runners should bring photo ID, while a representative may collect with the registration confirmation email.
