Event Detail
The inaugural BSF Jammu Ultra Marathon 2026 brings an unusual road-endurance programme to Jammu, with a 60 km ultra as its headline challenge and shorter races for marathoners, club runners and newcomers. Organised by the Border Security Force in association with Krish Sports & Fitness LLP, the event links running with Jammu's border-region history and landscape.
Course and setting
Organiser information describes a route through the Chenab River belt towards Akhnoor, with views towards the Trikuta Hills and Vaishno Devi range. This is the route's general character, not a published kilometre-by-kilometre map. Runners should wait for the confirmed starting point, route file, transport arrangements and any security-related access instructions before planning race-morning travel.
Choosing the right challenge
The programme comprises a 60 km ultra, full marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km), timed 10 km and an untimed 5 km community run. The 60 km course has an eight-hour cut-off, requires entrants to be at least 18 and asks for evidence of a marathon-length or longer finish in the previous two years. The 42 km race allows six hours and requires a recent timed half-marathon result or longer. For the 21 km, the allowance is three hours, with a qualifying timed 10 km or longer result. The 10 km has a 90-minute limit and a minimum age of 14. Upload the relevant timing certificate or result link when entering a qualifying distance.
Participant information
The organiser advertises hydration and medical support, and timing for the competitive categories. Official finishers are promised medals and electronic certificates; check category-specific kit inclusions at registration. The rules state that participation is limited to Indian nationals with appropriate identification. Jammu residents and defence personnel are offered a complimentary-entry option, but free-entry runners are not eligible for cash prizes. Anyone seeking prize eligibility should review the paid-entry terms and final awards schedule.
The booking platform advertises an approximately 5:30 am event start, but individual distance flag-offs, bib collection, security procedures and the precise venue are not yet confirmed on the organiser's main page. Check final instructions rather than treating that single time as every distance's start.
ARC staff note: The race includes an official 60 km ultra, but ARC currently has no matching 60 km structured distance ID. Add this distance during manual review; the four shorter distances below are only the supported structured cards. The map pin is Jammu city-centre, not a confirmed start line.
