Manipal Marathon 2027 returns to KMC Greens at Manipal Academy of Higher Education on Sunday, 14 February 2027 for its ninth edition. What began as a student-led initiative has grown into a large community running festival that brings together students, alumni, families, local runners and athletes from further afield. The organiser reports more than 23,000 participants at the 2026 edition, underlining how substantial the event has become within India’s university and community running scene.
The 2027 programme spans a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and 3K fun run. The official event site describes the routes as professionally managed and IAAF/AIMS certified, with the races run through Manipal and the surrounding region. Detailed 2027 course maps have not yet been published in a form that can be independently verified, so runners should check the organiser’s updates closer to race day for final routing and course-specific logistics.
The timed races use chip timing and net time for official rankings. The full marathon starts first at 5:00am, followed by the half marathon at 5:30am, 10K at 6:00am and 5K at 6:20am. Start gates for each timed category close 15 minutes after the scheduled gun time, and runners are asked to reach their start corral at least 20 minutes early. A runner may compete in only one category.
Age eligibility varies by distance: the 3K is open from age six, the 5K from age 12, the 10K from age 14, and both the half marathon and full marathon from age 18. The event’s current theme, “From Campus to Community - Every Step Matters”, reflects the organisers’ emphasis on active living, inclusion, volunteering and community engagement through MAHE’s Volunteer Services Organization.
Race-pack collection details, the 3K flag-off time and final 2027 course logistics are still awaiting publication. Runners should rely on the official event site and organiser communications for those updates rather than older-edition information.
