Event Detail
The 10th Ishinomaki Revive Marathon returns to Miyagi Prefecture on Sunday 14 March 2027. This anniversary edition brings runners to a city known for its recovery and community spirit, with a road-running programme for serious half-marathon entrants, casual runners, young athletes and parent-child pairs. The organising committee has set a combined capacity of 3,800 participants across the distances.
Course and race-day programme
All races start and finish at Seihoku Park Ishinomaki (Ishinomaki City Sports Park). The half marathon begins at 9:00 am JST, followed by middle-school 2K at 9:20, primary-school 2K at 9:30, the family 2K at 9:40, 10K at 10:00 and 5K at 10:20. This is an unofficial/non-JAAF-certified course; it should not be advertised as a certified qualification race. The half-marathon time limit is three hours, with 1 hour 40 minutes for 10K, one hour for 5K and 30 minutes for 2K. The official RUNNET page publishes intermediate cut-off points for the half marathon.
The 21.0975 km, 10 km and 5 km races are open to eligible high-school-age and older participants. Separate 2K divisions cater to primary and middle school runners. The family division is for one adult aged at least 18 and one primary-school child, who must cross the finish holding hands. Entrants should read the relevant division and age rules, rather than assume a single age minimum applies across the festival.
Registration and runner preparation
Entry is via RUNNET on a first-come, first-served basis, from 8 October 2026 to 8 January 2027, subject to available places. The organiser says race bibs and timing chips will be posted in advance, with no race-eve or race-day check-in. Participation gifts are expected to include a face towel and local Ishinomaki produce, distributed on race day; these are described by the organiser as planned items. Drink stations will operate, with additional aid stations for the half and 10K events.
A free shuttle bus will run from Ishinomaki Station to the venue. The organiser also expects to provide nearby parking, although spaces are limited; public transport is recommended. Ishinomaki Station is reached from Sendai by rail, with onward shuttle connections to Seihoku Park. Entrants should monitor official communications for final transport departure times and any course or road-control updates.
The organising committee includes Ishinomaki City and local sports, tourism and community organisations. The event is an opportunity to run in, and support, an important Tohoku community; please refer to the official event guide for full entry conditions and the latest race-day notices.
