JBUtrails 2027 brings trail runners to Janda Baik in Bentong, Pahang, for a two-day mountain and rainforest event on 17–18 April. The village is known for its hilly terrain, lush tropical forest and comparatively cool climate, with the organiser describing typical temperatures of about 21°C at night to 28°C during the day. It sits within easy reach of Kuala Lumpur but offers a very different running environment from the city.
The programme has three official distances. The 50K is the headline ultra, with about 3,200 metres of elevation gain and an 18-hour time limit. The 30K has around 1,700 metres of climbing and a 10-hour limit, while the 14K packs about 700 metres of elevation gain into a four-hour cut-off. The official current-edition page displays UTMB Index recognition for all three distances, plus ITRA point information for the 50K and 30K.
The event window runs from 5:00am Saturday until 10:00am Sunday. All participants must be at least 18 years old. Mandatory equipment applies across the field, including a cup or bowl, hydration capacity, a working mobile phone and a GPS watch or GPS app loaded with the course file. The 50K and 30K runners also require night-safety equipment such as a headlamp with spare battery, blinker and emergency blanket.
The organiser enforces checkpoint and finish cut-offs, prohibits shortcuts and unauthorised pacing or aid, and notes that roads are not necessarily closed to traffic. Medical stations and event insurance are provided, and each participant is entitled to one bag deposit at the Janda Baik event site.
Registration is live for the 2027 edition. Current fees, final race-pack collection details, shuttle arrangements, parking information and 2027 merchandise or finisher entitlements are not yet safely available as verified text, so they have not been assumed from older material. The race-pack section on the current organiser page still shows 2026 dates and has deliberately not been reused for this 2027 listing.
