Bukit Kiara Ultra Challenge 2027

Bukit Kiara Ultra Challenge 2027 is the ninth edition of Lumen Sports' city-edge trail endurance event in Kuala Lumpur. Based at Wisma WIM in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, the event uses the forested hills of Bukit Kiara, often described locally as one of Kuala Lumpur's important green spaces. The organiser has capped the 2027 edition at 500 places and offers 50K solo, 50K duo, two 25K race slots, an 8.5K trail category and an Ultra Kids run of about 3K.

The adult course is built around an approximately 8.5 km loop with about 300 m of climbing per loop. The 50K solo and duo categories complete six loops, while 25K runners complete three. The organiser has labelled the 2027 course as a new route, but the final 2027 route map is still listed as coming soon, so older route graphics should not be treated as the final course.

The weekend begins on Saturday, 2 January with the Ultra Kids programme, with the kids race starting at 7:45am. The main endurance races are on Sunday, 3 January. The 50K and 25K Slot A start at 7:00am, the 8.5K starts at 7:30am, and 25K Slot B starts at 1:00pm. Published limits are 12 hours for 50K, six hours for 25K and three hours for 8.5K.

This is a BYOB event, so runners must carry their own bottle or hydration system because cups are not supplied. Mandatory equipment includes a hydration bag or belt carrying at least 500-1000 ml, a headlamp with spare battery for low-visibility periods, and a working mobile phone. Bag deposit is available at the event site.

Normal registration pricing runs through 31 October, followed by late entry through 30 November, subject to availability. Race-pack collection is available at Trailside Treats, Wisma WIM on 2 January from 10:00am to 7:00pm. A second collection window opens at 5:00am on race morning; the organiser's current page and schedule graphic differ on its closing time, so runners should check the live event page before travelling.
