Event Detail
Ultimate Trails of Penang 2026 is a multi-distance trail-running weekend based at Lapangan Memanah, Youth Park, on Penang Island. The published 2026 Race Roster schedule gives runners a choice of five confirmed race distances from 12K to 100K, with the longer ultras beginning on Saturday and the shorter races following on Sunday. The event brings several levels of trail endurance together at one start-and-finish venue rather than staging separate events for each distance.
Race weekend and cut-offs
The 100K starts at 3:00am on Saturday 10 October, with a 35-hour cut-off ending at 2:00pm on Sunday. The 60K begins at 3:00pm on Saturday, allowing 23 hours. On Sunday 11 October, the 40K starts at 2:00am with a 12-hour limit, the 25K starts at 6:00am with eight hours, and the 12K starts at 8:00am with four hours. These are Malaysian local times (MYT, UTC+8), and the organiser's latest instructions should take precedence if the timetable changes.
The different cut-offs make race selection important. The 100K and 60K involve overnight running, while the Sunday races range from an accessible shorter trail challenge to a longer endurance effort. Participants should choose according to their trail-running experience and ability to finish within the published time limits.
Planning your participation
The current-edition registration listing identifies Lapangan Memanah at Youth Park, Penang Island as the start-and-finish venue. Runners travelling to Penang should check their category's reporting instructions, transport arrangements and the latest race briefing before setting out. Course maps, elevation gain, mandatory equipment, aid-station locations, registration fees and race-pack collection arrangements were not reliably available from the verified material used for this draft, so no details have been assumed.
Edition caution: An organiser schedule graphic also contains rows labelled 2025 for 100-mile and 200K races. Those older-labelled rows have not been treated as confirmed 2026 categories. The verified 2026 schedule covers 12K, 25K, 40K, 60K and 100K.
