Event Detail
North Borneo United Harmony Run 2026 takes place on Sunday, 22 November 2026, at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Organised and registered through the KSRUN platform, the event brings people together through running and Sabah's diverse cultural and faith communities. Its distinctive theme is a shared experience of places of worship around Kota Kinabalu, making this a different sort of city fun run from a conventional personal-best road race.
Courses and categories
The organiser offers two in-person distances: 10 km Full Explore Worship Places and 5 km Peak Nam Toong. The event calendar gives an overall race-day start time of 6:30 am Malaysia time, but does not yet distinguish the exact flag-off time of each distance in the publicly accessible event information. An additional Harmony Run Virtual entry is offered for people who wish to take part remotely. Virtual participants should check the organiser's account portal for the applicable activity window, proof-of-completion rules and fulfilment arrangements, rather than assume they apply to the in-person race.
The event description says the route will connect places of worship. However, a detailed 2026 turn-by-turn map, road-closure information, elevation profile and confirmed list of stops are not yet shown on the public registration page. Accordingly, this listing does not assume which individual religious sites runners will visit, or describe either distance as certified or fully traffic-free. Check the organiser's final race briefing for the exact route and whether particular locations are viewed from outside or entered.
Race-day planning in Kota Kinabalu
Padang Merdeka, also known as Merdeka Square, is a central city landmark on Jalan Padang, close to local accommodation, shopping streets and public transport. Its accessible location is useful for visiting runners, but those travelling from other parts of Sabah should allow time for possible traffic controls and the final assembly-point instructions. The map coordinates on this listing indicate the public square, not a separately confirmed start gantry.
Sabah's tropical conditions can bring heat, humidity and heavy rain. Arrive hydrated, wear comfortable running gear and observe marshals' directions. The event is marketed as a celebration of togetherness, but participants should still respect the particular religious and cultural sites encountered along the route. Follow the organiser's instructions about photography, access and respectful behaviour.
Registration and remaining information
Standard entry is advertised at RM85 for 10 km and RM79 for 5 km, with a separate virtual option at RM79, subject to any additional booking fees or changes shown at checkout. The KSRUN website says registration is open. The organiser's Double Up promotion also links Harmony Run with a separate December Foamtastic event and advertises medals for both experiences.
The publicly accessible event page has not yet confirmed a registration closing date, full participant entitlement list, cut-off times, race-pack collection, exact distance-specific flag-offs or prize structure. These should be checked directly with KSRUN rather than copied from a different event.
