Event Detail
SC70 2026 takes place on 21–22 November in the municipality of Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur, on Mindanao in the Philippines. Organised by Team Jegol Runners, this established mountain event marks an important step on the regional trail-running calendar: for the first time, its headline 70K race is designated an Asia Trail Master Season 12 Championship Qualifier. Previously on the Grandmaster Quest calendar, the race now provides a route to championship-ranking points for leading finishers.
Trails and championship significance
Asia Trail Master estimates about 4,400 metres of ascent on the headline 70K, which makes it a serious technical endurance challenge rather than a runnable road ultra. The organisers' highland route passes features including Dinor Peak, the Pilan River, Loay Peak, Camp 796 and Mt Fortune. The 2026 course map also marks checkpoints and water stations along the mountainside course, but participants should obtain the final route and any amendments directly from the organiser before travelling or preparing crew plans. Mount Apo is not included in this course: the Mount Apo Sky Race is a separate event held the previous weekend.
In the Season 12 championship system, the top 25 finishers of the 70K can score qualifier points according to the series' published rules, potentially helping them qualify for the ATM Championship Final. The organiser's current 2026 event poster also lists 30K, 16K and 8K categories, providing alternatives for runners wanting a shorter mountain challenge. Only the 30K has an exact distance selector in ARC; the 70K, 16K and 8K remain explicitly listed here instead of being inaccurately assigned another distance.
Travel and preparation
Santa Cruz is south of Davao City in Davao del Sur, accessible by regional road transport. Plan around travel from Davao City or the airport and allow generous time for assembly, mountain weather, race briefing and the journey home. For the long course, practise steep climbing and descending, trail nutrition and hydration, and equipment management before race week. The publicly shared 2026 poster confirms the dates and four advertised categories, while the Asia Trail Master page confirms the qualifier status and course characteristics.
Registration fees, entry deadlines, exact 2026 gun-start times, mandatory equipment, race-pack collection and precise assembly point were not verifiable from the current official sources checked. Check Team Jegol's official updates and the final race manual before making arrangements; older editions' arrangements must not be assumed to apply.
