Event Detail
Tawid Lake Balanan Trail Run 2026 is an overnight mountain-running event in Siaton, Negros Oriental, on 28–29 November 2026. Organised by Happy Feet Events, the race is a candidate event for the Asia Trail Master 2027 circuit. That designation describes the series consideration, not the date of the race.
Lake and mountain trails
All distances start and finish at Lake Balanan, a distinctive figure-eight-shaped freshwater lake enclosed by the forested hills of southern Negros Island. The surrounding landscape includes mountain paths, open clearings, creek-side sections and waterfalls. Expect uneven surfaces, sustained climbs and tropical conditions rather than flat roads. The organiser offers labelled 5K, 10K, 25K and 50K challenges suitable for different levels of trail experience.
Organiser-linked digital course mapping gives the flagship 50K route an actual distance of approximately 53.3 kilometres, with roughly 2,764 metres of ascent. The 10K map similarly measures around 11 kilometres, climbing about 659 metres. Advertised categories and measured route lengths should not be confused. Runners should check current maps and race notes before committing to a distance.
The 50K begins at 11 pm Philippine time on Saturday 28 November, with the 25K at 2 am, 10K at 4 am and 5K at 5 am on Sunday. The official listing specifies an 18-hour limit for the 50K, a five-hour limit for the 10K and a three-hour limit for the 5K. A conflicting time is printed for the 25K cut-off, so entrants should confirm that category's final instructions with the organiser.
A community cause
This race raises support for residents, pupils and teachers around Lake Balanan, with proceeds intended to help purchase bangka boats for local journeys, including travel associated with Managobsob Elementary School. It gives runners a reason to learn about the host community as well as the trails.
Registration opened on 20 July 2026 and was advertised to close 31 October 2026. Tickets are described as non-refundable but transferable. Entrants should follow the organiser's latest race pack, transport and safety guidance, particularly because the long race starts after dark.
