Event Detail

TransJeju by UTMB 2026 brings the UTMB World Series to Jeju Island for a four-race mountain festival from 2 to 4 October. The organiser says runners from 53 countries are taking part in the 2026 edition. Courses explore Jeju's volcanic landscape around Hallasan, South Korea's highest mountain, with sections through the Hallasan National Park environment recognised as part of Jeju's UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

The programme ranges from an accessible 20K to the 100-mile flagship. Jeju100M covers about 148 km with roughly 5,000 m of climbing, starting from Jeju World Cup Stadium at 21:00 on Friday with a 37-hour limit. Jeju100K is approximately 104 km with 4,000 m ascent, starting from the stadium at 05:00 on Saturday with a 29-hour limit. Jeju60K covers 60 km with about 1,400 m climbing, starting from Gasiri Jeju Horse Park at 08:00 with a 15-hour limit. Jeju20K covers about 20 km with 508 m ascent and starts from Gasiri Horse Park at 10:00, with four hours allowed.

UTMB Index requirements apply to the longer races. The 60K requires a valid 20K, 50K, 100K or 100M Index; the 100K requires at least a 50K Index; and the 100M requires a 100K or 100M Index. The races award one, two, three and four Running Stones respectively from 20K through 100M. Standard registration closed on 31 July, followed by a limited lottery for cancelled places in the 60K, 100K and 100M that closed on 6 September.

Race-week check-in and bib collection are based at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Thursday and Friday before the races. Current organiser guidance asks runners to have their registration QR code ready, while overseas runners do not need to install the Korean Pass Lane app. Shuttle buses connect the stadium with the Gasiri starts for the 20K and 60K.

This is a semi-autonomous mountain event with compulsory equipment and strict environmental rules. Aid stations provide support, but runners must carry their own cup and hydration capacity. Some trails and private land are opened only for race day, so pre-running restricted sections is prohibited. The organiser also advises downloading the official GPX file because the route passes remote mountain terrain where mobile coverage can be intermittent.
