Amazing Chiang Rai Marathon 2027

Amazing Chiang Rai Marathon 2027 is the sixth edition of this northern Thailand city road race, returning to the historic Old Chiang Rai City Hall on Sunday, 31 January 2027. The programme offers a full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K, giving both experienced distance runners and recreational participants a way to race through central Chiang Rai.

Current race listings show the marathon starting at 03:30, followed by the half marathon at 05:00, 10K at 05:45 and 5K at 06:00. The marathon route is designed as a city tour, passing landmarks including Chiang Rai Clock Tower, Wat Ming Muang, the King Mengrai Monument and the Kok River crossings before heading through the airport and stadium areas. On the return, runners pass cultural sites including Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park and Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong before finishing back in the old city. Organiser updates should be checked close to race day in case the final route or timings change.

Registration opened on 7 July and the official registration platform lists 30 November 2026 as the closing date. Race packs can be collected at Old Chiang Rai City Hall on Saturday, 30 January from 12:00 to 18:00. There is no race-morning bib collection. A postal-delivery option is available to runners who select it by 31 October, with dispatch scheduled for 5 to 15 January.

The organiser states that 21K and 42K runners who finish within the applicable cut-off receive a finisher shirt. Optional SUB shirts are also tied to performance targets of sub-1 hour for 10K, sub-2 hours for 21K and sub-4 hours for 42K. Bib transfers are permitted until 30 November for a published transfer fee, but running under another participant's bib is prohibited. The event is organised by Route Map Co., Ltd., with the Amazing Chiang Rai Marathon Facebook page used for official updates.
