Event Detail

Nong Khai Running Festival is set to return to north-eastern Thailand on 10–11 July 2027. The dates are announced on the organiser's own website, whose current banner thanks runners for the previous edition and confirms the following year's return. The festival is listed as a full member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), with an emphasis on endurance running rather than a single city-marathon start.

Race format and course

The organiser's site describes a programme built around 100 km ultra running (including a team option), a 42.195 km marathon, a 10-mile race and a 6.7 km family run. The AIMS race profile describes a course around a reservoir, with laps of approximately 6.7 km. This creates a distinctive repeated-loop challenge for long-distance participants. These are details of the previous programme; the exact categories and 2027 route are still awaiting a fresh organiser announcement. The website's information, maps and registration sections remain labelled 2026.

As historical context only, AIMS describes an 18-hour limit for the 100 km and a seven-hour limit for the marathon. Its published ultra and marathon flag-off times also refer to the earlier programme; they should not be relied upon as the July 2027 schedule.

Venue and planning

Nong Khai province sits along the Mekong on Thailand's border with Laos. Earlier editions used the Wat Champa Thong area in Tha Bo district, west of Nong Khai city. The 2027 exact start, finish, race-pack collection venue and road access arrangements have not been confirmed. Travelling runners should wait for the final venue and official transport advice before locking in accommodation.

Entries and essential checks

The official site currently displays registration closed for the previous edition. That is not evidence that 2027 entries have opened or closed. The organisers have yet to confirm 2027 prices, registration dates, safety and aid-station arrangements, individual cut-offs or finisher entitlements. Consult the organiser's event website and its linked official Facebook page for current-edition notices.
