Event Detail

Samui Trail returns to Koh Samui, Surat Thani, for a two-day trail-running weekend on 7–8 November 2026. The event is associated with the 4KINGs Plus Southern Thailand Trail Series and takes runners beyond the island's beaches onto inland paths, forested slopes and demanding hill terrain.

The 2026 programme offers 7 km, 15 km, 25 km and 55 km routes. The 55 km category is the headline ultra-distance challenge; the shorter options let runners choose between a relatively accessible introduction and more sustained trail climbing. ARC does not currently offer a 55 km distance filter, so the 55 km race is documented here rather than mislabelled as a 50 km event.

Published race schedules list the 7 km start at 4:00 pm on Saturday 7 November, followed by the 55 km at 5:00 pm. The 25 km and 15 km starts are listed for 2:00 am and 5:00 am respectively on Sunday 8 November. All times are Thailand local time (UTC+7). Check the organiser's final race briefing for changes.

The organiser's 2026 announcement, reproduced by Runlah, names Ban Laem Hoi School in Ban Tai, Koh Samui as the event location. Some general international directory descriptions still show Phawanaphothikhun College in Na Mueang, so participants should confirm the final assembly point with the organiser rather than rely on an older map or directory.

The courses are promoted as challenging tropical trails, including steep jungle climbs, uneven or muddy sections and coastal or hill views. Race information lists drink and nutrition stations, medical assistance, timing, finisher medals, event shirts and bag-drop facilities; participants should confirm which provisions apply to their distance. The organiser-linked 2026 listing gives entry fees of THB 900 (7 km), THB 1,900 (15 km), THB 2,400 (25 km) and THB 2,850 (55 km). These are listed fees, not a claim that entries remain available.

Prepare for steep footing, warm humid weather and potentially wet trails. Check kit requirements, collection arrangements, cut-off times and the latest registration status directly with the organiser before travelling.
