Event Detail

Soimalai Trail Winter Season 2026 brings a demanding mountain-running weekend to the Kaeng Huai Tak Forest Park area of Tak Province in northern Thailand. Organised by RunRunTeam as part of Tak Trail Series Thailand, the race explores forest trails, ridgelines, steep climbs and mountain communities. The 2026 edition joins the Asia Trail Master Season XII calendar, with its long-distance race serving as a championship qualifier. The organiser also publishes ITRA and UTMB Index classifications for several courses; this is not a UTMB World Series event.

Race programme and terrain

The six distinct races share one event weekend, 11–13 December 2026, with the registration platform also listing 10 December for event administration. All times below are Thailand time (UTC+7).

  • SML 166: Friday 11 December, 04:00. Approximately 165 km, 6,800 m ascent and a 52-hour limit.
  • SML 100: Saturday 12 December, 04:30. Official 100K category, 5,300 m ascent and a 30-hour limit.
  • SML 65: Saturday 12 December, 04:30. 65 km, 3,100 m ascent and a 20-hour limit.
  • SML 45: Saturday 12 December, 05:30. 45 km, 1,700 m ascent and a 14-hour limit.
  • SML 33: Sunday 13 December, 06:00. 33 km, 1,500 m ascent and a 10-hour limit.
  • SML 12: Sunday 13 December, 06:30. 12 km, 400 m ascent and a four-hour limit.

The organiser's current-edition course diagrams show checkpoints, water points, food and first-aid provision. For example, the 100K map shows successive mountain climbs and aid locations through the 30-hour window. Routes and station arrangements are expressly subject to change. These are mountain trails, not flat road races; participants should plan for uneven footing, exposed climbs and potentially long periods on course.

Entry and race-day practicalities

The organiser's regular-price entry window runs from 1 September to 26 October 2026, subject to places remaining. Published regular fees are THB 7,500 (166K), 5,700 (100K), 4,900 (65K), 3,999 (45K), 3,300 (33K) and 1,500 (12K). Check live availability with the registration provider before paying.

Registration rules require entrants to be at least 18, use their own bib and follow the marked course without shortcuts. Runners must collect their own race materials with a government-issued identity document or passport; race-day bib collection is not offered. Confirm the collection timetable directly with the organiser. Completed entries are non-refundable under the published rules, and organisers may alter routes or cancel activity for safety reasons.

The official prize chart lists men's and women's overall awards through fifth place across the races, plus age-group awards for the longer categories. Travelling runners should arrange transport to the rural Kaeng Huai Tak venue in advance rather than assume city-centre shuttle access.
