Event Detail
Can Tho Heritage Marathon returns to the Mekong Delta on Sunday, 20 December 2026, with its current “Champion21” format centred on the half marathon. The event has been staged in Can Tho since 2019 and is organised by DHA Vietnam with local sports authorities. It starts and finishes at Song Hau Park in Cai Khe, beside the Hau River, giving runners a city-and-riverside setting in one of the major urban centres of the Mekong Delta.
For 2026, the programme has 21.097 km, 10 km and 5 km races. The official rules set overall cut-offs of 3 hours 30 minutes for the half marathon, 2 hours for the 10K and 1 hour 30 minutes for the 5K. Minimum ages are 16 for the half marathon, 12 for the 10K and 5 for the 5K, with the 5K divided into adult and children’s competition groups. Timing is handled using chips attached to the race bib, and athletes must cross all timing mats to receive an official result.
Race support is substantial. The organiser says hydration stations will be placed roughly every 2.5 to 3 km with water, electrolyte drinks, medical support, rest areas and fruit or other energy food. A pacer team is planned, bag drop is provided, and professional race photography is available free of charge. The official 2026 route map, including checkpoints, toilets and medical stations, is still to be published, so runners should treat older route maps as reference only.
Race-kit collection will be at Song Hau Park. Collection times are still to be announced, and runners will need their QR code plus identification; authorised collection is permitted under the organiser’s stated process. The wider event runs across 19 and 20 December with exhibitions, community activities and cultural performances. The 2026 edition also includes the “Run for Wildlife” partnership with Conservation Vietnam, with the 5K carrying the Conservation Vietnam name and using the event to promote awareness of Vietnam’s wildlife.
Registration is currently open through the official event payment portal. The organiser has not yet published a final closing date, and the live portal may close earlier if capacity is reached.
