The INOV8 TRAILTALON SPEED is a trail racing and fast-training shoe for runners who prefer an agile feel on soft or mixed terrain. Its graphene-enhanced G-GRIP outsole uses 6 mm multidirectional lugs designed for muddy paths, grass, rocky sections and woodland trails. POWERFLOW PRO midsole foam works with a BOOMERANG footbed to provide cushioning and rebound, while a breathable air-mesh upper and supportive overlays help secure the heel and midfoot on uneven ground.
INOV8 specifies a 4 mm heel-to-toe drop and midsole measurements of 11 mm at the heel and 7 mm at the forefoot, plus a META-PLATE rock plate. This SPEED model is distinct from the standard TRAILTALON, zero-drop ZERO and higher-cushion MAX. It suits runners looking for grip and quicker turnover rather than a plush road-training ride.
The relatively low-profile design may feel firm to runners accustomed to maximal cushioning. Aggressive lugs can also be less pleasant for long tarmac stretches. Check the official width and size charts, allowing room for toes on descents.
