INOV8 TRAILTALON ZERO is a zero-drop trail running shoe aimed at runners who prefer a more natural foot position for faster efforts on soft or muddy ground. Unlike the more cushioned TRAILTALON MAX, this version places the heel and forefoot at the same height and emphasises ground feel. It is best suited to runners already comfortable with zero-drop footwear.
The manufacturer lists a FLYSPEED PRO midsole, BOOMERANG footbed and a META-PLATE rock-protection shank. A graphene-enhanced G-GRIP rubber outsole uses 6 mm lugs to bite into soft trails, while the quick-draining mesh upper and toe guard help on wet, uneven routes. INOV8 specifies a 12 mm midsole stack at both heel and forefoot, 0 mm drop and a listed shoe weight of 270 g. Standard and Wide fit options accommodate different forefoot preferences.
The relatively low underfoot profile may feel firm to runners accustomed to tall road trainers. Deep lugs can also be less comfortable on long sealed-road stretches. Moving abruptly from a high-drop shoe to zero drop can require adaptation. Check the size guidance carefully; INOV8 notes this model may fit small. No independent wear testing has been performed for this listing.
