The Kahtoola INSTAgaiter is a lightweight, breathable gaiter for trail running and hiking, designed to keep dust, gravel and scree out of footwear while adding resistance to light moisture. Its close-fitting body uses an 86% recycled nylon and 14% polyurethane stretch-woven fabric with a PFAS-free C0 durable water-repellent finish.
An asymmetrical YKK VISLON side zip allows the gaiter to go on or come off without removing the shoe. An elastic top drawcord, nylon lace hook and adjustable DuraLink TPU instep strap help secure the fit; the strap is replaceable and carries Kahtoola’s 1000-mile warranty. Low and mid heights, three size ranges and multiple colours are variants of the same INSTAgaiter model family. Depending on height and size, Kahtoola lists pair weights from 49 g to 76 g.
This model suits dry to damp trails where debris protection and ventilation matter. The DWR treatment can deflect light moisture, but the INSTAgaiter is water-resistant rather than waterproof, so it is not intended to replace a waterproof gaiter in sustained rain, deep mud or snow.
