Heart-rate data from a chest strap
The Polar H10 adds a dedicated heart-rate sensor to the technology category. Polar's Singapore product page identifies an ECG-based chest sensor with Bluetooth LE and ANT+ connectivity, supplied with a Polar Pro Strap. It is a training accessory rather than a standalone GPS watch: route tracking and workout display depend on the connected equipment or app.
Who should consider it?
Consider an external sensor if heart-rate data is central to your training and you are comfortable wearing a chest strap. It can also suit runners who want to record through a compatible phone app. Decide how you will view and record the data before buying, rather than assuming the sensor supplies every function of a watch.
Compatibility needs a specific check. Verify that your watch or app accepts the relevant external sensor protocol. Polar's support page describes supported phone requirements and notes that Android compatibility can vary. Bluetooth support in a phone alone does not guarantee that every app accepts heart-rate sensors.
Setup and care
Choose the strap size using Polar's measurements and check the fit during a short run. Follow Polar's instructions for electrode contact, pairing, cleaning and removing the transmitter after use. Test the connection before an important workout, including whether your chosen app is recording the intended sensor.
The H10 uses a replaceable CR2025 coin cell; it is not a rechargeable device. Polar states battery life of up to approximately 400 hours. Actual use and settings can affect battery life. Follow the specified battery and seal instructions rather than substituting a different cell thickness.
Buying checks for regional runners
The official Singapore page provides a regional reference for the model and included strap. On marketplace listings, confirm H10 rather than H9, whether both transmitter and strap are included, strap size, seller provenance and local warranty terms. A low price may represent a strap-only replacement.
The Indonesia button is an affiliate-linked Shopee search, not a vetted seller listing. The Singapore link is a direct Polar page and is not affiliate-tracked. This guide does not treat the sensor as a diagnostic medical device.

Reviews
“The H10 tracked my running and gym sessions well for nine months, then began losing heart-rate data despite cleaning, battery changes and resets. The growing gaps made it unreliable for training.”
“The H10 connects reliably to both my Polar and running apps, even after repeated restarts, unlike my old H7. It has worked in cold and wet conditions, though the strap feels tight on my frame.”
“The monitor meets my expectations and I would recommend it for running and gym training.”
“The strap is easy to put on, comfortable during use and straightforward to operate for my trail activities.”
“I tried the H10 immediately after delivery and found it to be a very good product for my trail and road running.”
“The H10 stays secure while running and responds quickly to intervals. Its readings are more accurate for me than wrist-based monitoring, although the price is high.”
“The H10 pairs easily with my Apple devices and feels comfortable. I find the measurements accurate, but I must detach the sensor from the strap after use to avoid draining the battery.”
“Heart-rate readings are accurate for running, but swimming has been frustrating: water movement lifts the sensor away from my chest even with the strap tightened uncomfortably.”
“The sensor initially worked well, but the connector on the chest strap failed after about a year. Its replacement strap failed similarly, despite my regular running and cycling use.”
“The sensor connects quickly and accurately to my Garmin watch, but I have struggled to make Polar Flow connect during cycling. Another ECG-analysis app gives me more heart-rate information.”
“The strap's actual fit does not match the sizing I expected. I could extend it to only about 90 cm rather than the advertised 118 cm.”
“The H10 measures my heart rate accurately and lets me save a long workout without carrying a phone. The app gives useful detail, but the strap is not especially comfortable and needs some upkeep.”
