Event Detail
Ultribe Paderu 2026 is the sixth edition of the mountain trail-running festival organised by the Visakha Trail Running Association (VTRA), a not-for-profit running community in Andhra Pradesh. The event is scheduled for 5–6 December 2026, with its race village near Karakaputtu in the Paderu highlands of the Eastern Ghats. Organiser artwork confirms the four advertised race categories: 110K, 50K, 25K and 10K.
What makes the race distinctive
This is not a flat urban marathon. The routes take runners through the hills around Paderu and Vanjangi, with forest tracks, coffee-growing country, village paths and demanding ascents and descents. Organiser-published trail mapping shows that the course advertised as 50K is approximately 53.3 km, with roughly 2,651 m of cumulative climbing. Other category names are similarly nominal rather than guarantees of exact measured length: available current-edition route information indicates roughly 26 km for the 25K and about 110 km for the longest ultra. Entrants should check the latest GPX and briefing for their chosen category.
Race weekend and preparation
The published race programme lists a 2:00 pm Saturday start for the longest ultra. The 50K, 25K and 10K are listed for 5:00 am, 6:00 am and 7:00 am respectively on Sunday, all India Standard Time. The published category cut-offs are approximately 30 hours for the longest race, 13 hours for the 50K, six hours for the 25K and three hours for the 10K. These schedules should be reconfirmed against the final organiser briefing.
VTRA requires qualifying experience for the longer categories. Its event information lists a half-marathon finish under three hours for 25K entrants and a sub-six-hour full marathon or qualifying ultra finish for 50K and the longest distance. Carrying appropriate lighting, water and emergency equipment is particularly important on the remote longer courses. Runners must follow organiser instructions at checkpoints and inform race marshals before withdrawing.
The organiser’s current event listing names the Runners Village near Karakaputtu, while the official 2026 poster identifies Paderu, near Visakhapatnam. Registration status should be checked directly: the organiser's web event page currently says tickets are not on sale, although third-party race listings display category fees. Bib collection, mandatory kit and transport arrangements should be confirmed before travel.
