ARC research verdict
The CamelBak Circuit Run Vest with Crux 1.5 L Reservoir is a lightweight hydration vest for runners who prefer drinking through a tube rather than carrying only front soft flasks. It is a practical comparison for regular longer road runs, half-marathon or marathon training and moderate trail outings. The 1.5-litre reservoir is included on the researched Circuit configurations; front Quick Stow soft flasks are not necessarily included. Check the exact version and package before ordering.
Key construction and specification caveats
CamelBak's regional pages describe a Crux 1.5 L / 50 oz reservoir, breathable 3D mesh, two adjustable chest straps, a secure phone pocket, fuel pockets, tube management, reflectivity and selected versions with a whistle and trekking-pole attachment. A Singapore men's listing gives 5.5 L pack capacity, around 170 g for the vest alone and approximately 360 g pack weight with reservoir. An older Hong Kong Circuit listing describes 3.5 L gear capacity and a different quoted weight. These figures refer to different regional releases or measuring conventions: do not mix them into one definitive universal specification. Check the retailer's model code and included components.
Who it suits
Runners who want hands-free drinking can benefit from a bladder-and-hose setup. The front pockets can carry gels and small essentials while a rear compartment holds a light layer. However, a full reservoir adds weight and requires cleaning; a belt or two soft flasks may be simpler for shorter sessions. The vest's limited bulk storage makes it less suitable for an ultra with a long mandatory equipment list.
An independent Countryfile review praises its light, ventilated construction but notes that open mesh storage offers limited protection from wet weather. An earlier Mountain Weekly review raises fit and mouthpiece considerations. These reports are useful context, not a guarantee of comfort for every body shape.
Fit, cleaning and compatibility
Adjust the chest straps while the reservoir is filled, then test bounce on a short run. Check that the phone fits the secure pocket and the drinking tube remains accessible. The model has appeared in men's and women's fits, and different regional listings describe varying dimensions. One catalogue entry covers the Circuit model, with gender fit and colour handled as buying choices rather than separate products.
Clean the reservoir, tube and bite valve according to CamelBak's instructions after using carbohydrate drinks; dry the system thoroughly before storage. Check that any replacement reservoir uses the compatible Crux connection. Reflective accents are helpful but do not replace lights or safe route selection after dark.
Buying in Asia
Exact-model pages were found in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The CamelBak Singapore and Philippines pages were marked sold out at research time; they are identification/restock references, not current stock promises. A Malaysian specialist retailer listed the Circuit vest, while Hong Kong offers specialist product pages. The Indonesia affiliate button is a Shopee search, not a verified individual seller. Verify reservoir inclusion, generation, local warranty, stock and shipping before payment.
